Open Publishing: Open Publishing and Creating OERs

Open Publishing: Open Publishing and Creating OERs In-Person
Open publishing, is an open access model, that makes scholarly research available online without cost or access restrictions, allowing users to read, download, and share the work - therefore increasing its impact. Open Educational Resources (OERs), teaching, learning and research materials that are freely available for others to reuse, adapt and redistribute under Creative Commons licensing, are one product of open publishing.
In this workshop of the Researcher Workshop Series, we will provide an overview of open publishing and creating OERs and discuss the benefits to this publishing model in higher education. We will introduce attendees to the WM Press and how they can participate in open publishing.
Participants are welcome to bring their lunch to this workshop.
Note: In cases where fewer than 5 people register for a workshop, it will be cancelled and the instructor will reach out to the registered attendees to schedule an individual consultation with them on the topic. This decision will be made 12 hours before the workshop.
